Ahh yes, the Transportation Security Agency… our benevolent travel overlords who do everything they can to protect us, from stealing our stuff to groping our kids. How would we ever get along without them?
Well, we may actually be getting along without them a lot of the time; 95% of the time at one U.S. airport.
According to local Fox affiliate Fox 21, recent tests of TSA screening at Minneapolis Airport reveal that the agents maintained an astonishing 95% failure rate. The Minneapolis-St. Paul airport was put to the test last week, and miserably failed.
Last Thursday, what’s referred to as the “Red Team” in town from Washington D.C., posed as passengers and attempted to sneak items through security that should easily be caught.
In most cases, they succeeded in getting the banned items through. 17 out of 18 tries by the undercover federal agents saw explosive materials, fake weapons, or drugs pass through TSA screening undetected.
Two sources told Fox 9 that the tests carried out Thursday were eventually stopped after the failure rate reached 95-percent.
Similar numbers were found in 2015 with a similar test. Fake weapons, explosive materials, and drugs were all passed through security.
Don’t you feel totally safe and secure with the TSA “protecting” you and your family?
Well, that’s a relief… Next time TSA agents grope me inside my waistband, I’ll be sure to keep this in mind!
Fox 9 asked TSA about these results, and the agency responded with this pathetic statement:
“TSA cannot confirm or deny the results of internal tests and condemns the release of any information that could compromise our nation’s security.”
Seriously..? Your agency with an abysmal record has the audacity to say that admitting to these problems will compromise national security?
Let me do a little FIFY (Fixed It For You) here… You, TSA, are the ones compromising our national security (not to mention our personal liberties and privacy).
All the while, they want to get more and more invasive with their searches and bans and violations of our dignity. They are so incompetent that their employees regularly screw up and create massive security breaches that put all of us at risk.
I think it’s time to abolish the TSA for the sake of our safety.
