For the past few days, special counsel Robert Mueller has been the subject of an abundance of criticism from President Donald Trump’s allies who have attacked the way he is handling the investigation into Russia’s alleged meddling with the 2016 election.
In recent days, the investigation has also sprung several leaks, including a bombshell dropped on Wednesday night by the Washington Post that Mueller was investigating Trump for obstruction of justice.
On Thursday night, Fox News’ Sean Hannity used his opening monologue to tear into Mueller for the way he was conducting his investigation. During the monologue, he had just two simple words of advice for what he thought Mueller should do.
Resign immediately,” Hannity said.
“Robert Mueller has more conflicts of interest than we can count on this show,” Hannity explained. “Mueller and [former FBI Director Jime] Comey have been close friends for a long time. Comey admitted he leaked the memo to The New York Times hoping it would bring about a special counsel.
“These are massive conflicts of interest that cannot be ignored … Whoever leaked this information to The Washington Post, they need to be arrested, prosecuted, put in jail,” he stated.
