Supermodel Gisele Bündchen shared a link to an anti-Trump rally later this month the same day that her husband, NFL quarterback Tom Brady, ducked out of the New England Patriots’ Wednesday visit to the White House in celebration of their Super Bowl 51 victory.
“March for climate, jobs, and justice. To change everything, we need everyone,” read Bündchen’s post, which linked to the “Peoples Climate March” being held in Washington D.C. on April 29.
The march aims to protest President Donald Trump’s environmental policies and is scheduled for the same day as Trump’s 100th day in office.
“At the end of April, Donald Trump will have been in office for 100 days. We need to mark that day with a massive demonstration that shows that our resistance is not going to wane or fade away,” the Peoples Climate March states on their website.
The supermodel’s tweet has since been deleted but was recorded by multiple screen-grabs.
Bündchen has been an outspoken critic of the president. When Trump claimed that her husband had already voted for him just days before the election, Bündchen set the record straight on social media.
“Gisele I heard you and tom were backing Trump! Is that true??” an Instagram user asked Bündchen.
She responded with an enthusiastic, “NO!!”
Tom Brady, on the other hand, made a splash after calling Trump a “good friend” after a “Make America Great Again” hat was spotted in his locker.
Brady ducked out of the Patriots’ visit to the White House Wednesday, citing “personal family matters.”
“I am so happy and excited that our team is being honored at the White House today. Our team has accomplished something very special that we are all proud of and will be for years to come. Thank you to the President for hosting this honorary celebration and for supporting our team for as long as I can remember,” Brady said in a statement.
“In light of some recent developments, I am unable to attend today’s ceremony, as I am attending to some personal family matters. Hopefully, if we accomplish the goal of winning a championship in the future years, we will back on the South Lawn again soon. Have a great day!” his statement continued.
Brady didn’t elaborate on the family issues keeping him from visiting the White House, but it is known that his mother has been battling cancer for almost two years.
