It’s irritating when people make assumptions about middle America, particularly the South, but it’s even more so when they post their bigoted views on social media.
The CEO of a marketing and advertising firm in San Francisco, Melinda Byerley, stated, “One thing middle America could do is to realize that no educated person wants to live in a s***hole with stupid people. Especially violent, racist, and/or misogynistic ones,” via Heat Street.
She goes on and on about how people don’t like to live in cities and are cramped up there, but they refuse to sacrifice their “standards” and live in a place with “bigots.”
Well, from where I’m sitting, she’s the bigot because she’s intolerant of people who don’t share her views, and that’s exactly what a bigot is.
Just because many from middle America voted for Donald Trump does not make them racist or sexist and whatever else liberals can come up with. It just means they didn’t want a crook in the White House and decided to give it to someone who could actually bring about change for this country.
This woman Byerley can stay in her cramped lifestyle for all I care. If she has that big of a problem with people with conservative ideals and thinks we’re all a bunch of racists, then she can go ahead and stay in San Francisco.
The fact of the matter is that in middle America, many different people live in harmony together. Most of us are not racist and are happy to have diversity in our cities and communities. I know I am for sure.
But liberals from both coasts still think of the South as a place where lynchings and the Mason-Dixon line are still around, which is not surprising considering they still think of Russia as our Cold War enemy with our nukes pointed at each other.
Liberals claim to be “progressive” and “educated,” yet they make and use assumptions about everything they remain ignorant of and never look beyond what their peers think. You can be “educated” all you want but stupid and narrow-minded at the same time.
Some places in middle America are very successful and innovative, inviting business and enterprise in the spots that don’t flood entrepreneurs with regulations galore. We’re not merely “one horse towns,” which is what people on the West Coast and in the Northeast believe us to be. I even had to explain to one of these ignorant liberals that, yes, Arkansas has cities. And yet they want to call us the stupid bigots?
It would seem that liberals are more ignorant than they like to believe, but, of course, their mommies and daddies paid for their fancy, pretentious schools, so they won’t admit it. This CEO needs to take a look in the mirror and realize that the bigot could be a lot closer to home than she realizes.
