Bernie Sanders Asks ‘How Many Yachts Billionaires Need’ and Gets Hit with a Brutal Reminder

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) asked Twitter on Friday how many yachts and cars billionaires need to be satisfied, writing that they “can’t have it all.”

The former presidential candidate is a self-declared socialist who frequently criticizes millionaires and billionaires. He even abhors the idea that Americans can choose 23 types of deodorant when there are hungry children in the country.

Sanders’ leftist beliefs go back to when he was young. In 1971, Sanders was asked to leave a hippie commune because he talked about politics and the glories of socialism all day instead of working. When he married in 1988, Sanders took his wife to the Soviet Union for their honeymoon.

It should not be surprising, therefore, that Sanders tweeted out his disdain for successful Americans having the ability to spend their money how they want.

During the 2016 election, Sanders often professed his desire for the United States to adopt far-left policies by implementing a single-payer health care system, free education, a large-scale redistribution of wealth, and unprecedented regulation on the financial sector. After Sanders dropped out of the presidential race, he continued to push the Democratic Party further left, but he also bought his third home for around $600,000. Sanders uses his third house, with 500 feet of Lake Champlain beachfront, as a vacation home.

When Sanders criticized the greed of billionaires, Twitter was quick to remind the Vermont senator of his own lifestyle.
